Start a home skincare routine – Go and see an expert and get some advice about the right products for your skin. You want to have a facial wash, cleanser and moisturiser to suit your skin type. Also, start trying to increase the amount of water you drink to flush away any toxins that have built up in your skin.

If you don’t have a good hairdresser, find one – If you don’t go for regular trims, you need to start. Ask your friends for recommendations. If you’re thinking of changing the colour of your hair, do it now so you have the chance to get used to it or change it back if you don’t like it. Also, start looking at styles you might like for the big day. Have a trial run so you can see what style you suit – when you go for a trial, try to wear a light coloured top with a similar neckline to your dress so you can get the full effect.

Go see a beautician – This is the best time to start on a course of facials. A facial will help to deep cleanse your skin and give your skin an extra glow, plus if you know your skin is in great condition your confidence will shine through. This is also a great time to trial your fake tan and have a makeup trial. Fake tans are all different, so try out a few to see how the colour develops, if it suits you and if it rubs off on light coloured clothing. If you’re having a fake tan, make sure you have it done for your makeup trial so that the makeup artist can adapt your makeup to suit your newly tanned skin tone. Take a camera along so you can see how your makeup and tan will look in your photos and so you can have the look recreated.

Time to relax and treat yourself – Make sure you get plenty of sleep on the weeks running up to your wedding. Sleep helps your skin as well as those dark shadows. Cut down on the amount of alcohol you drink (I know it’s a stressful time but you’ll thank me for it!) and make sure you’re drinking plenty of water. Try and book a massage so that you have some relaxation time and get a manicure and pedicure. You might also want to get your eyebrows, legs and bikini line waxed. I know your budget may be tight, so you could have some home treatments…just make sure you have some downtime!
What are you planning on doing on the run up to your wedding? Do you have anything special planned? Maybe a spa day with the girls, or a pamper session?
