So you have a date in mind for your wedding and you’ve already ruled out the family dog acting as a ring-bearer — fantastic! Planning your perfect wedding can be a very daunting task though, particularly if it is an event you have dreamed about your entire life. Whether you have a clear vision in mind or you’re bereft of ideas, following these key wedding planning tips will make your life considerably more enjoyable when feeling the pressures of organising your perfect day.
Make your guests comfortable
A huge quandary when planning your wedding is how to keep the numbers down while still inviting everyone who really should be there. While the temptation is to try and cram as many people into your reception hall as possible, you must consider that your guests have to sit in the room for a number of hours, and that nobody will have a good time if they keep clashing chairs or bumping into waiting staff. Allow around 30 square feet per guest at your reception venue, as with the space already taken up by tables, decorations, and the dancefloor, this should be just enough for a successful wedding without any claustrophobia. This should give you a rough guide of how many guests you can afford to have at any given venue.Continue reading

Semi permanent makeup is something I have been thinking about for a long time. I’ve seen many people at wedding fayres who offer this service, so I know that it is something that a lot of brides must also consider having done.
Sally Taha Semi Permanent Makeup Artist offers eye liner, eyebrow and lip treatments. For eye liner you can have an Alluring Lash Line which makes your lashes look thicker and darker with a subtle enhancement in between your lash roots or Enviable Almond Eyes which define and line your eyes with a sculpted eyeliner. This begins with a fine crisp line at the inner corner of the eye and widens gradually toward the outer corner.
As a new client I met with Sally to have a private Consultation before booking the procedure. During the consultation Sally answered all of my questions and went through a medical questionnaire with me. We discussed the different treatments she offers and I told her I would like my upper and lower eyeliner done as I thought it would have the most impact on my daily routine – I’m useless at applying eyeliner!!! Sally then put some of the anaesthetic and pigment she uses behind each ear as a patch test to make sure I had no reactions. I then booked to have the procedure the following week.
I have to admit I was very nervous when I went in for my treatment. Sally greeted me and reassured me that there was nothing to be nervous about. I felt like I was in very capable hands. So I relaxed on the bed as Sally put some eye drops in my eyes and then administered the first anaesthetic which is topical. This was given a few minutes to work and then Sally started the procedure. She quickly went over the skin on both eyes to start building up the colour, this was uncomfortable but not painful. She then applied more anesthetic and to be honest I didn’t feel much after that other than a small vibration from the machine. Sally gave me a mirror to have a look and see if I was happy with what she had done and I was very happy. The treatment took about one and a half hours in total.
The night of the treatment, after the anaesthetic had worn off, my eyes were a little sore and slightly swollen which is completely normal for this type of treatment. I used an ice cube in a plastic bag around my eyes to help with the swelling. The following morning my eyes were slightly more puffy, but after applying ice again it just looked like I had been crying. By the next day my eyes were back to normal.
I need to go back 4 weeks after the procedure to have the eyeliner topped up and then it should last approximately 3 years. There is no way to determine before hand exactly how long the colour will remain visible, it depends on several factors including skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure and general health. Touch ups can be done as often as every 6 months. However, most people get a colour boost every one to two years to maintain their desired look or even change the colour and shape. If it is not maintained it will just fade away over time.
All procedures are both safe and medically approved when carried out by a competent technician. All products are of the highest quality and have been developed in Europe by the leading manufacturers of Digital Machines and Semi-permanent Makeup consumables. All pigments are made of natural minerals that are specifically selected for their safe, non toxic and hypo allergenic properties. they are trusted by technicians and plastic surgeons all over the world and are actually recommended for for women who are sensitive to conventional cosmetics.
Having trained with one of the UK’s highest regarded specialists, Sally is a sought after micro-pigmentation, semi permanent makeup specialist and is insured and licensed.
Sally’s passion in life is to create permanent makeup treatments for eyebrows, eyes and lips. Each one of her clients has different facial features, structure, and skin tone, which all influence the treatment in different ways, therefore no one treatment is the same. She is an artist and will always create a bespoke treatment to suit the individual and the look they desire, whether its a natural, flattering look for the clients who desire something very subtle, or those who want a more pronounced look. She strives to to ensure every single client is happy before she starts any work and that’s why the consultation process is really important.
I have had so many compliments about my eyeliner and I am so pleased that I’ve had the treatment…..so pleased in fact that I’m going back to get my eyebrows done at the end of August!
I would say that every bride wants to shine on their big day. And for your makeup to look good, your skin needs to be in top shape. I have heard a lot about Microdermabrasion which is a mechanical exfoliation that is performed by passing a hand held device that uses a highly controlled flow of fine, medical grade crystals over the skin. These crystals which are delivered at high velocity onto the skin surface are immediately vacuumed away, taking the top-most layer of dead skin cells with it. This is a type of skin exfoliating which improves the tone and texture of the skin and reveals the newer, more vibrant skin below. Once the dead and damaged skin cells are removed, skin immediately feels and looks smoother, fresher, healthier and more youthful. Microdermabrasion can be good for treating:-
I went along to Clinic 178 in Wallsend to experience microdermabrasion for myself. After a very thorough consultation about my health and wellbeing, I was taken through to one of the treatment rooms where I lay down and got comfy. I was told that the procedure can be a little uncomfortable and to say if I needed a break.
When you’re planning a wedding in the UK you always need to plan for the typical British weather…..rain! This can be a lot more fun now with the large selection of wedding umbrellas which are available. Many couples opt to buy wedding umbrellas just in case and use them as props for their wedding photographs even if it’s not raining.
Jolly Brolly has one of the largest range of styles of wedding umbrellas. They have over 1,000 brollies in stock ready to be shipped out and offer next day delivery as well as weekend deliveries to help with those last minute weather changes! They refer to themselves as “weather insurance for the big day.”
For Jolly Brolly, nothing is too much trouble. They always take time to help a customer, whether it be helping them decide on the best umbrella to match their bridesmaids dresses or just taking a few extra minutes to talk to customers on the phone about their needs. You always talk to a real person who wants to help, not just another person in a call centre.
I have been using the white boutique plain pagoda stick unberella for the past few weeks and it is gorgeous! It’s very lightweight, easy to open and is big enough to stop you getting soaked in the largest of downpours (this is well tested with the weather this past few weeks!). It comes in may colours as well as white, so they can match your colour scheme.
