Simon and Lianne were married at All Saints Church, Settrington followed by a reception at The Orangery on Settrington Estate on Saturday 6th September 2014. Lianne was walked down the aisle by her father in the beautiful traditional church “It was a lovely moment when we left for the church in the rather quirky cycle rickshaw we had as wedding transport (the church was a stones throw from where we stayed and the reception venue). ”
Lianne and Simon have known each other since they were 14. They were ‘childhood sweethearts’ before Simon joined the Air Force and Lianne went off to university. They stayed in touch intermittently and got back together in 2011 . Their first date was at an Italian restaurant in Central London.
Simon proposed on Christmas Day. Lianne said “I was absolutely shocked and surprised. I was suffering with really awful flu at the time and I hardly looked my best, full of snot and feeling sorry for myself. Despite this it was perfect. He asked me after we had opened all our presents and my parents (whose house we were at) had gone to get showers and start the dinner.”Continue reading

Jade and Ben were married in a civil ceremony at Maylands Golf Club, Romford on Wednesday 18th March. Jade’s dad, John Coverdale, walked her down the aisle and gave her hand in marriage to Ben.
They met working together at a Law Firm in London back in 2006. They were good friends and didn’t start dating until years later. Their first date was in Croydon in 2009 and they went to a Thai Restaurant for dinner and then to the cinema to see Marley and Me.
Ben proposed during their summer holiday in Gran Canaria in 2013. They were taking an evening stroll on the beach before dinner and stopped to take in the view of the ocean on some rocks. Ben got down on one knee and proposed. Jade said “I was so surprised and hadn’t seen it coming at all! It was the perfect romantic setting as the beach is my favourite place.”
Jade and Ben chose their wedding date because they celebrate their anniversary on 18th September but they wanted a spring wedding so chose 18th March; it’s exactly 6 months between their anniversary and wedding anniversary. They liked the idea of their relationship being celebrated more than once a year. They were married on their 5 and a half year anniversary.
They chose Maylands Golf club as they loved the exposed beams and features inside for the festival themed they had chosen. They also wanted to get married in Romford as Ben moved from Surrey into their first home together in Romford which was close to the venue. Jade said “Romford will always be special to us as we spent 2 years commuting between Essex and Surrey and when we moved in together we both knew that we could finally have the future we dreamed about.”
The couple chose a festival theme and their colour scheme was yellow, pink and blue. They chose a festival as they wanted a laid back relaxing day for everyone to enjoy. Both Jade and Ben love of music but have different tastes and over the years they have both introduced each other to new music going to gigs, concerts and festivals. They thought it would be fun to combine all the music they love into their big day. “We had the whole day planned out in set times which were put on lanyards for guests and also on the tables so everyone knew what was happening and when.”
Jessica and Robert Elliott were married at The Powdermills Hotel in Battle, East Sussex on Friday 1st August 2014.
They first met at secondary school when they were both 16 years old. They were friends for 2 years before Rob plucked up the courage and asked Jess out; so you could say they are high school sweethearts!
Rob proposed exactly a year after first asking Jess out, which also happened to be Christmas Day! He let her open all her other presents and then got her to sit down next to him and pulled out the ring from behind his back. Jess said”I was so surprised and happy and immediately said yes – whilst crying!”.
Choosing the venue for their wedding was an easy choice. Jess explains “For my 19th birthday Rob surprised me by taking me on a weekend away to the Powdermills Hotel. It was such a magical time for us in terms of our relationship – we had been together for 6 months and it was that trip that made me realise that he really was the one for me – so we had to have the wedding there. It helped that the venue was stunning and perfect for the intimate wedding we envisaged!”
