Introducing Manta Makes

Manta Makes offers wedding decor, personalised items and keepsakes for all the family made from wood. They also offer custom designs.

The company is called Manta Makes because Samantha and her partner visited Hawaii in 2013 to swim with Manta Rays. Almost like stingrays these beautiful creatures ‘dance’ in the water. They were lucky enough to swim with a Manta Ray ‘Clara’ – named by the local divers. The couple always wanted to have their own business and knew what they wanted to make, but just couldn’t decide on a name. After the birth of their daughter in 2014, they researched their business idea further and reminisced on their holiday to Hawaii and the name just came together – ‘Manta Makes’.

The Paper Brides Guide to Wedding Stationery

As self-confessed stationery geeks we always dreamed of running our own business in the stationery world and here we are with The Paper Brides! We love bringing creative and unique wedding stationery to all brides to be. And to help you on your way, here is our guide to the wonderful World of Wedding Stationery!

Save the Dates

There is a big debate about whether to send them or not. We thought about it for a while, we even wrote a blog on it (http://thepaperbrides.co.uk/save-the-datese-love-them-wt/)! Ultimately we think yes, you should send a save the date!  We are all busy so the sooner you get the date in your guests diaries the better! Plus it gives you a bit more breathing space timing wise when it comes to your formal invite. Don’t forget, this is the first insight into your wedding your guests will see, so choose it carefully, try and fit it to your colour scheme and style.

Lianne & Simon’s Quirky North Yorkshire Wedding

Simon  and Lianne were married at All Saints Church, Settrington followed by a reception at The Orangery on Settrington Estate on Saturday 6th September 2014. Lianne was walked down the aisle by her father in the beautiful traditional church “It was a lovely moment when we left for the church in the rather quirky cycle rickshaw we had as wedding transport (the church was a stones throw from where we stayed and the reception venue). ”

North Yorkshire wedding

Lianne and Simon have known each other since they were 14. They were ‘childhood sweethearts’ before Simon joined the Air Force and Lianne went off to university. They stayed in touch intermittently and got back together in 2011 . Their first date was at an Italian restaurant in Central London.

Simon proposed on Christmas Day. Lianne said “I was absolutely shocked and surprised. I was suffering with really awful  flu at the time and I hardly looked my best, full of snot and feeling sorry for myself. Despite this it was perfect. He asked me after we had opened all our presents and my parents (whose house we were at) had gone to get showers and start the dinner.”Continue reading

The Milk Tray Man

An email dropped into my inbox last week simply titled The Milk Tray Man. This sparked my interest. I was smiling away as I read “The milk tray man; a very British man of action who will go to any lengths to ensure his lady receives her chocolate.
If you have ever dreamt of having a box of treats delivered to you by a dark, dashing hero, then you are in luck!”
Milk Tray Man
Spicy Hen are offering a new package called ‘Milk Tray Men’. I love this idea! You can arrange for a “daring hunk” dressed in the Milk Tray Man black polo neck to hand deliver chocolates to the bride to be! Because a note is included in the package, you can use this to invite the bride to be to her hen night. The “chocolate-bearing hunk” can surprise the hen at work, home or even down the gym! And the great thing is, this is available nationwide.

You can even upgrade to a breakfast delivery, including fresh pastries, fruit and some bubbly. The dashing, polo-neck clad hunk can even stay and serve it to you! Now, I don’t know about you but I fancy this for my birthday, never mind my hen do! (I hope my friends take the hint!)

For more information on the packages available go to spicyhen.co.uk/milk-tray-man or email  info@spicycorporation.com

What do you think about this idea? Would you book him? Have you organised something similar?
