Queen of the Forest – Whimsical Bohemian Bridal Inspired Styled Shoot

The Queen of the Forest photo shoot was designed by Charlotte Garratt, Amanda White and San Shawe of Sanshine Photography to create and showcase two whimsical bridal looks as inspiration for brides who want to add a splash of bohemian fairy tale into their special day.

The first look, based around a flowy silk tulle strapless gown, and complimented by a beautiful floral crown, is perfect for a magical light-infused woodland wedding ceremony, with light natural make-up and loose curls to complete this effortlessly beautiful style.

The second, more regal look is based around a unique ivory gown with beautiful beading and a high neckline, and would be an excellent choice for the evening celebrations and autumn weddings with a boho twist. Structured hair and bold lips make a statement with the gorgeous accent of a vintage crown to make any bride feel like a fairytale queen.

5 Things the Groom Cares About

When a couple are planning a wedding I hear a lot of brides say that their partners don’t care about the wedding. Or when they are asked for their opinion they say “whatever you want”. Well, these are a few things that I believe most grooms do care about when planning a wedding.

  1. What he’s wearing. He doesn’t want to look stupid in front of his friends…..he wants to be comfortable and as much as you want him to look like Mr Darcy, he just wants to look good!Groomsmen
  2. The colour scheme. If he’s a Man City fan you can’t have red at your wedding without him getting a lot of grief from his friends.Red Theme
  3. The Party. He wants everyone to have a good time. Listen to his music and drink suggestions.Evening Reception
  4. Your Look. He’ll already be nervous on the day, so make sure you still look like the girl he knows and loves…..don’t decided to go for a style overhaul on your big day.Close Up Bride
  5. The Stag Party. Probably the thing he cares most about…..and also worries about. Will he come back with both his eyebrows???Stag Do

Do’s and Don’t for your Makeup Trial

Once you have booked your makeup artist, schedule at least one trial run to test out different looks.

Bride Makeup 2

Do bring magazine pictures to show the makeup artist what you like and don’t like.

Do bring pictures of your dress, if you have a fabric swatch take that along with your accessories. This can help the makeup artist suggest colours and styles.

Do wear a white or ivory top with a similar neckline to your dress. This will help with your skin tone for the day.

Do get your hair done. Have it styled as you will have it on the day so you can visualise your whoile look.

Do prepare your skin. Exfoliate your skin and have your eyebrows groomed.

Do take pictures once your look is complete. Get photos both indoor and out and with a flash so you can see what your makeup will look like in your photographs.

Maekup Artist

Don’t be unrealistic. Have ideas of what you want to look like, but remember you are never going to look like an airbrushed model!

Don’t waste the opportunity. Ask questions, don’t get distracted and don’t turn up with 20 friends.

Don’t be shy. Tell them what you like and don’t like. If you’re not happy with the look created, tell them.

I asked Alex from the Great British Wedding what advice they would give to a couple planning their wedding. “The thing to remember when planning your big day, is that it is all about you as a couple. It isn’t about doing things that you think ‘should’ be done, or wearing something that makes you uncomfortable because you feel you should – it should be about what matters to you. If you feel strongly about the environment for example, perhaps choose recycled books to make your flowers; or if you really love superheroes how about theming your day around them (although maybe asking your guests to dress up is pushing it a BIT far…). Make your day unique by finding special finishing touches and fitting it around your personalities – not the other way around.

Above all relax – yes it is only one day, but it is YOUR day – you should not feel like you are out to please others, or feel bad about how much you have spent (or didn’t spend). Yes, make sure your guests are comfortable, but remember the main attraction for them is watching two people they love tying the knot… not the firework finale. Although if YOU want fireworks……”
